Openness

Openness is also known as as open-mindedness, broad-mindedness, impartiality, receptiveness, tolerance, understanding.

But the opposite of this is the Ego,closeness, secretiveness, inhibition, reticence, shyness.

Generally the well-educated people are found to have ego and secretiveness in their behavior. But other people including the sages and saints do remain open minded and they exhibit  their openness in their thoughts and actions.

Openness generally requires to speak truth and act honestly. But it requires the courage to be true and honest in life.

Advantages of Openness are many as compared to the problems you may face for frankness.
The major plus point is you need not remember anything what you speak and do. That means a lot of freedom in further actions and you will become self-confident reliable and dependable by others.

But the reticent people always need to devise strategies to conceal all their plans and actions so that they will not be caught by other people. This attitude of secrecy calls for more burden and tension leading to less freedom. Ultimately, such people do lose their self confidence and also the confidence of others.
